Yes it is totally true; a land speeder has been spotted in a police car pound in Cedar Grove, Florida. The high performance vehicle whose owners have included Coca Cola and one Luke Skywalker, which is a strange combination but you know how it goes.
The vehicle dates back to the 1980’s (Earth Time) and was originally built for the famous soft drink firm Coca Cola as a promotional vehicle for the product. It is built onto a VW chassis and engine, when the vehicle was being used it was called Coke One!
It is believed that during the 1980’s the vehicle disappeared from public view, which must have been when Luke Skywalker was using it! But suddenly reappeared during 1995, it was at that time when it was actually donated to the Cedar Grove Police Dept, where it has remained ever since.
The local Police Chief Guy Turcotte is planning on getting the land speeder to work again, the body is an ok condition and the engine needs a little work on it to get it working again. Once the car is fully operational it will be put up for auction, and seeing how other famous movie vehicles are doing at auction, there probably will not be a better time to get a great price for this famous vehicle.

With the Mercedes CLS ‘four door coupe’ models successfully creating a brand new category, other manufacturers are scrambling to come out with their own versions of low-slung sexy four doors.
This week at the Shanghai Auto Show, BMW debuted the CS concept. While BMW currently labels this as strictly a concept car, we are fairly certain that a production model is coming (in 2 years+), to join the Benz CLS, the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche Panamera in the marketplace.
Early reaction from the automotive press is that the car is a stunner. Carzi concurs!
Ian Wright, founder and CEO of Wrightspeed, showed off the X1 in San Francisco Thursday night at a gathering of the Business Association Italy America at Club Sportiva - a sort of exotic country club for car enthusiasts. Watching and listening to this video one would assume that all the roaring would be from the X1 literally destroying the Ferrari off the line, but in fact all that noise is all from the Ferrari, and the only noise made by the X1 is minimal screeching of it’s tires!
The X1 prototype is a concept car, and a test platform. It is not a production car, and never will be. It’s a proof-of-concept vehicle that will lead to a production car in the future. Wrightspeed’s strategy is to bring efficiency to high-end, big-margin gas guzzlers that garner big profit margins. During a 20-minute presentation, Wright said that by capturing 10 percent of the gas-guzzler market, more fuel would be saved than by turning 100 percent of already-efficient gasoline-powered cars electric.
To build this prototype, Wrightspeed looked for the best of the best, in today’s technology. They chose AC Propulsion 3-phase AC induction motor and inverter – the highest power/weight ratio system available.
For the chassis, Wright turned to Ariel, in Somerset. Ariel has created one of the world’s sexiest and raciest F1 inspired legal street cars, as well as the quickest and lightest chassis on the road.

The two models that started it all for Toyota's hip Scion brand in 2004 will be no more come springtime. Keeping to its word when it launched, Scion doesn’t want to redesign existing models, as traditional automakers do. Instead, expect two new models that could look drastically different from either the xA or xB. We’d guess a production version of last year’s t2B concept is a lock, while we can’t guess on what the xA replacement will be. It’s a safe bet that one or both of the new vehicles will debut at the Los Angeles auto show in late November. Both new cars will be 2008 models.
This leaves shoppers about six months to pick up a new xA or xB. The boxy xB has been selling almost twice as well as the xA and has a rabid following that crosses age ranges because of its wild styling and affordable price.
